Advanced Medical Equipment Technologies Level 5 Diploma
The Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Medical Equipment Technologies is a higher level qualification intended for people employed full time. It runs for a duration of 18-24 months which makes this a part-time course. This Diploma enables individuals working in medical equipment technologies to obtain an appropriate accredited work-based learning qualification whilst in full time employment. It is focused on developing additional skills, knowledge and understanding in medical technology in the workplace.

Achievement of the Diploma will allow access to the final year of a BSc (Hons) in Engineering Management. As this is a work-based, distance/blended learning course a variety of approaches to teaching and learning will be utilised to reflect the academic level, content and outcomes.
Entry Requirements:
Learners applying for the Diploma must have a Level 3 Diploma in a relevant subject area such as a Level 3 Diploma in Medical Equipment Technology, an A-Level in Mathematics and GCSEs in English and Science. Equivalent qualifications will be considered, as will substantial relevant experience in the field of medical engineering.
Delivery and Assessment:
Learning takes place predominantly in the work place mainly through the completion of workbooks, online activities and tests, direct practice with supervision by the mentor in the workplace and through peer group discussions on the virtual learning environment. High levels of contact time are offered through the dedicated web support of Moodle. Alternatives to traditional class-based study allow learners to undertake learning at a time and pace which suits them. This makes the programme more accessible than a traditional university course. One day practical-based sessions and assessments form part of the Diploma where attendance at our site is mandatory delivered on a Friday every ten weeks.
