He has a passion for delivering quality education and training for experienced engineers and apprentices alike, with a strong focus on course development, ensuring our courses meet the exacting demands of a medical devices engineer.






Donna Dawson
Work Based Learning Manager
Safeguarding Lead

Donna is the Work Based Learning Manager for Avensys UK Training Ltd, with a strong background in Assessing and Quality Assurance. Donna has 20 years’ experience of working with Colleges and other Training providers, with a wealth of knowledge in NVQ’s, Apprenticeships, Frameworks and Standards.






Tracy York
Training Co-ordinator


Tracy is the central link between students, engineers’ trainers and clients based at the Training Academy in Kidderminster. Supporting the Training Academy Manager in responsibilities and development of training programmes and systems.











Steve Gains
Senior Engineer/Trainer

Steve has been working for Avensys UK Ltd from 2016 as a Bio-medical Engineer, subsequently the Senior Engineering Manager in charge of the HQ Workshop. Now, as a Senior Engineer and Trainer, Steve instructs in most aspects of Bio-medical Engineering. Ex Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, of which 8 years was served as a Medical and Dental Technician at several Military Hospitals. Steve has a broad range of engineering knowledge through involvement with MoD and the defence industry for equipment acquisition and upgrade projects.

Dave Eveleigh
Senior Engineer/Assessor/Trainer

Dave has been working for Avensys UK Ltd from 2007. As Senior Engineer and Senior Trainer, Dave instructs in all aspects of Bio-medical Engineering and is often named the Oracle of Bio-medical Engineering. Ex Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, he has been working within this field since the late 1980’s.







Lee Scott
Senior Engineer/Assessor

Lee started working for Avensys UK Ltd in 2015 for the Engineering Division, he is currently Senior Engineering Manager and Key Account Manager, but also works for the Training Division as a Level 5 course leader and Work-based Learning Assessor.
Prior to Avensys, Lee worked within the NHS for over 10 years, plus Medical Equipment Manufacturers and other third-party medical service providers. In 2013 Lee completed his BSc in Medical Technologies Management and FdSc in Medical Technologies following 4 years of study with Kingston University and Avensys Training.



Martin Ballard
Senior Engineer/Assessor

Martin started working for Avensys in May 2015, with 30 years field service engineer experience. Martin initially started as an Apprentice for a Radio Rentals repairing value televisions and mechanical key operated VHS video recorders. Martin takes great pride as a mentor to an Avensys Apprentice, passing on his knowledge.
