Course overview:

This comprehensive three-day course is designed to provide learners with an understanding of the major organ systems of the human body and their relevance to healthcare science and medical technology.
The course combines theoretical learning with interactive demonstrations and practical examples to explore the structure and function of the body’s major systems. Learners will examine how these systems work individually and together to maintain normal body function and homeostasis.
Throughout the course, learners will have the opportunity to interact with medical devices to understand the relationship between medical technology and healthcare science.
The course includes interactive use of an Anatomy Table, allowing learners to visualise and explore 3D models of structures and systems of the human body in greater detail.
Who Should Attend:
This course is suitable for medical engineers, biomedical technicians, clinical engineers and other healthcare or technical professionals who would benefit from developing their understanding of human anatomy and physiology and its relationship to medical technology.
It may also be beneficial for individuals who are new to the healthcare engineering sector or those looking to build their knowledge and confidence when working with medical devices and equipment.
Pre-requisites:
There are no formal pre-requisites for this course.
A general interest in healthcare science and medical technology would be beneficial.
The minimum age for entry onto the course is 18 years old.
Course Aim:
Understand the major organ systems of the human body and their relevance to healthcare science and medical technology.
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course learners will be able to:
- Be able to describe the structure and primary functions of the major human organ systems.
- Explain how major organ systems interact to maintain normal body function and homeostasis.
- Understand the use of various medical technologies and diagnostic equipment that support the examination and management of organ systems.
Course Completion:
On successful completion of the course learners will receive an e-certificate and digital credentials.
Digital credentials are comprehensive representations of the knowledge, skills, and behaviours gained through our learning programme, issued by City & Guilds.
These credentials are verifiable and trackable, enabling learners to electronically share their achievements on platforms such as LinkedIn and other social media, thus opening new opportunities for their future.
