Avensys Training Academy launched their Diploma in Medical Equipment Technologies in January 2015 with great success.

This higher level qualification is aimed at people infull-time employment, running for approximately 18 months, on a part-timebasis. Aimed at people working full-time in medical equipment technologies, toobtain an appropriate accredited work-based learning qualification whilst infull time employment. It is focused on developing additional skills, knowledgeand understanding in medical technology in the workplace.

The courseincludes IHEEM membership for the course duration, lectures and seminars fromindustry specialists, access to an online library and course text book loanscheme and peer mentoring. A number of one/two-day weekend practical-basedsessions and assessments form part of the Diploma, which take place in thepurpose-built Avensys Training Academy, based in Worcestershire. The accommodationfee is included in the course cost, for the site-based teaching and assessmentsessions.

Achievement ofthis Diploma will allow access to the final year of a BSc (Hons) in EngineeringManagement. As this is a work-based, distance/blended learning course a varietyof approaches to teaching and learning will be utilised to reflect the academiclevel, content and outcomes.

Building ongreat success! The Diploma launched with 14 delegates in March 2015.
