Anaesthetic Machine Maintenance
This course provides essential knowledge and hands-on experience in inspecting, servicing, and repairing anaesthetic equipment following MHRA guidance, IEC Standards, and manufacturer requirements. Learners will explore patient safety, electricity’s physiological effects, and medical equipment’s dangers. Topics include anaesthetic machines, vaporisers, medical gases, and breathing systems, focusing on engineering principles, safety features, and performance verification. Through guided discussions, demonstrations, and practical application, participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of anaesthesia equipment functionality, safe working practices, and diagnostic techniques to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Pre-requisites:
Have prior experience and competence in electrical safety testing of medical devices.
The minimum age for entry onto the course is 18 years old.
Course Aim:
To equip medical engineers and technicians with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience required to safely maintain, service, and fault-find anaesthetic equipment in accordance with MHRA guidance, IEC standards, and manufacturer requirements, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and promoting patient safety.
Course Objectives:
