Course overview:
This course offers comprehensive introductions to the principles and practical aspects of essential medical equipment including Surgical Diathermy, Operating Tables, patient Gas Monitoring, and Endoscopy.
Who Should Attend:
This course is ideal for those with a technical background who work or aspire to work with biomedical equipment in operating theatres. It offers excellent foundation training for biomedical engineering staff involved in the routine servicing and maintenance of surgical equipment.
Pre-requisites:
To ensure optimal understanding and safety during the training, participants will need to have a working knowledge in electrical safety testing procedures. Learners are ideally required to have completed an Electrical Safety Testing course.
Additionally, the minimum age for entry onto the course is 18 years old.
Course Aim:
This course provides learners with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to be able to service and repair operating theatre and surgical medical equipment to current manufacturer information and in line with current industry frameworks.
Course Objectives:

Understand the principles of patient safety in relation to operating theatre and surgical equipment.

Understand the principles of operating theatre and surgical equipment

Be able to assess operating theatre and surgical equipment for electrical safety in accordance with regulations

Be able to perform inspection, testing, fault finding and servicing of operating theatre and surgical equipment in accordance with the relevant legislation, standards, and manufacturer’s information.
Course completion:
On successful completion of the course learners will receive an e-certificate and digital credentials.
