The Level 4 Healthcare Science Associate Apprenticeship combines workplace learning with the Pearson BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Healthcare Science.

All apprentices complete the same mandatory units which provide a common foundation in healthcare science before choosing a specialist pathway that reflects their role, interests and career aspirations.

Where can the Level 4 apprenticeship take you?

Progression to Level 6 Healthcare Science Practitioner

All three pathways can support progression towards Level 6 Healthcare Science Practitioner study. However, your choice of Level 4 pathway is important if you are considering the Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.

Clinical Science pathway – potential progression into Year 2

The Clinical Science pathway is currently the only Level 4 route that can provide Accredited Prior Learning (APL) towards the Level 6 Clinical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship with the University if the West of England Bristol (UWE).

For eligible apprentices, this could mean Year 1 is accredited through APL, allowing potential direct progression into Year 2.

Both the Medical equipment management and Rehabilitation pathways would be the full 3-year degree programme.
