Decontamination & Sterilisation Services

Avensys have invested in the very latest decontamination and sterilisation technology for use on medical devices, to ensure our customers receive excellent service. We are compliant to national quality standards and are ISO 13845 accredited, working to the Medical Devices Directive 93/42 EEC requirements.

All surgical and dental instruments received at our decontamination and sterilisation facilities are washed and decontaminated by fully automated machines validated and calibrated to manufacturer’s specifications, in compliance with the Medical Devices Directive.

Each instrument received is inspected by our trained technicians against its predefined tray list before going through a wash cycle using PH neutral detergent.

They then pass through to our ISO 14644 accredited controlled Cleanroom area for Instrument Assembly and Packing (IAP). The air in the IAP room is positively pressurised and goes through 20 air cycles per hour to ensure the particulates in the air remain within the required parameters.

Our steam sterilisers are self-checking, which guarantees the sterility of every batch that passes through. The check ensures each batch reaches between 134-137°C and remains there for 3-3.5 minutes. Our low temperature sterilisers use the latest hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) technology.

To ensure all equipment is maintained to their optimal level for the sterilisation process, our washer disinfectors and sterilisers undergo a routine preventative maintenance programme.

Throughout the decontamination and sterilisation cycle all processes are logged in T-DOC®, our track and trace system, giving our customers full visibility and traceability.
