Dental Equipment Level 3
This course covers introductions to, Principles of and Practical Equipment aspects of the following: Operating units, Dental Chairs, Compressors, Dental X-ray and other associated ancillaries.
Who Should Attend:
The course provides an excellent grounding for medical engineering staff involved with the servicing and maintenance of dental equipment.
Pre-requisites:
Learners must have completed our Level 3 Electrical Safety Testing course or have proof of electrical safety testing competence. The minimum age for entry onto the course is 18 years old.
Course Aim:
To provide learners with the basic knowledge and practical experience needed in order to be able to carry out inspection, servicing and repairs across a variety of Dental equipment in accordance with MHRA guidance, IEC Standards, relevant manufacturers’ information and the National Occupational Standard for Servicing Dental Equipment.
Course Objectives:
On conclusion of the course the learners will be able to:
- Describe the engineering and functional operation of dental operating units, associated dental equipment and ancillaries including: aspirators, chairs, lights, compressors, x-ray, descalers, polymer units and dental sterilisers.
- Carry out inspection, testing, fault finding and servicing of dental equipment in accordance with the relevant legislation, standards and manufacturers’ information.
Qualification:
On successful completion of the course learners will gain a Level 3 award in Servicing Dental Equipment.
